Possible solutions to prevent eye-strain
==== 1st factor: MONITORS ===
First and most important factor with regard to your eyes and health, is a monitor, of course. It is the main source of image/light/radiation, that affects your eyes. Everyone remembers the time we had CRT(with a large back-side) monitors, that was really a stress for eyes.
However, that age is gone, and now we have better technologies for displays. Nowadays (at this moment- 2017), there are two types of monitors , that are specially created to reduce eye-strain: E-INK monitors and several specific LED monitors (some people call them LCD, but they are different termins in details).
A) special LED Monitors (anti-glare, flicker free, low blue-light )
At this moment, I know that BenQ is well-know to produce special monitors , which come with: Anti-glare (a.k.a. Anti-reflect), zero-flicker and Low-Blue-Light technology. Note, that some monitors come with only one of those parameters. (also, some people mentioned other firms too: Qnix or Xstar; HOWEVER, I WONT RECOMMEND THEM, because they have not even their own website/certifications at all). At first, I’ve copied here a recommendation from other IT-guy:
"Obtain 144Hz(refresh rate) monitors instead of 60-75Hz! It makes a huge difference in headache, because your eyes are less strained. It feels like you are looking at the painting. With "zero" flicker at 60hz you may experience migranes, because actually the flicker is still there! (so, it's a bit misleading. Even though the technology is different, but it still needs to pulse the light). At 144hz that issue is almost non-existent. I can sit with this monitor for 6-8 hours (but I don't, of course). The whites are not as bright here either, so it doesn't burn your eyes like many monitors I had in the past (hence LED). That white glow is a killer on top of crappy 60hz flicker. Trust me, you won't look back at 60hz monitors again."
The models I was interested, are many, but especially (as nowadays no-one can be trusted easily in internet, talking about smth, at first, it needs to mention, that I have no interest to advertise specifically something. Everything I write below, is based on real facts I have been searching over google and forums, so, you can search yourself too and ensure…):

Typical advises (for monitors)
- Also, don’t forget to use excellent BLUE-COLOUR neutraliser software “FLUX” or “Redshift“
- As helper utility, in rare cases, “NegativeDesktop” might help you too.
- Sometimes, if you want to turn off your screen (without waiting screensaver, and etc.) with a single mouseclick, use excellent MonitorOff utility(just set it’s settings for click-turn off).

B) Monitors, with E-INK [like Kindle]
I havent deeply researched this area, but I have found several models of E-INK monitors, paper-like. They can be used directly as an EXTERNAL MONITOR for PC/LAPTOPS. Read the full article here about types of E-INK MONITORS!
=== 2nd Factor: Computer Glasses ===
Second important factor to reduce eye-strain is computer glasses – in case you don’t use E-INK monitor (but using any kind of LED monitor or laptop), you should consider to get special glasses. For example, amber(& anti-glare) lens glasses are created for this. Some people say, that glasses with the yellow tint (no magnification) is best for eyes, however, you should find your comfortable one.
( I think brand-firms are always recommended to go with,rather than some cheap unknown-manufacturers, because a small discrepancy in glass-creation technology might cause some problems after years.. So, spend a bit more money in your health).
Customers use these glasses (yellow tint relaxes the eyes by default):

(p.s. These are the same lenses: Vision-Clear-with-AR , but without the yellow tint, which is not as relaxing as the above one)

Excellent info — thank you. I’ve recently learned that the blue exposure can actually lead to the loss of cells in our retinas. This has the potential to contribute to macular degeneration. It seems to me that more people seem to be developing this problem.
I just ordered glasses from VSeyewear, and look forward to using them.
