Please restart the computer and run setup again.<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It might happens either when you try to install or uninstall the software. So, as you see, it requires for computer restart. Actually, there are several things you can do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restart your computer<br \/>\n<strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Use trick-script to override &#8220;restart-required&#8221; flag temporarily<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">[Method 1] Restarting your PC correctly<\/h2>\n<p>Of course, the standard way could be to obey the requirement and restart PC, but not with &#8220;<strong>Shutdown<\/strong>&#8220;, because it might use fast start-up (which ignores some pending changes). So, you should use actual &#8220;<strong>Restart<\/strong>&#8221; button. After logon, you should be able to continue the Visual Studio installation without the issue. If issue still persists, you might read the MS <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/ms.exch.setupreadiness.pendingrebootwindowscomponents(v=exchg.160).aspx\">documentation\u00a0of the issu<\/a>(there is written, that in some cases you might need to<strong> restart it again<\/strong>\u00a02nd times).<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">[Method 2] Ignore &#8220;Restart-Required&#8221; flag temporarily<\/h2>\n<p>If you dont want to loose time in restarting your computer, I&#8217;ve finally found the trick (thanks to installation error logs).\u00a0 So, It took a time till I&#8217;ve finally created the <strong>cmd(batch)<\/strong> script to change the specific values temporarily to ignore restart requirement. Here is the script you can run at first:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a class=\"wpe-button wpe-button-white\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/puvox.software\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Ignore_Reboot_Temporarily.bat\">Ignore_Reboot_Temporarily.bat <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After you run it, then open Visual Studio Installer again, and voila, it should allow you to proceed with installation. But note, the script creates temporary file on your desktop, which you should RUN after you finish installation, to restore the <strong>Reboot-Required flag<\/strong>! However, if you already run the installer successfully (<em>i.e. you installed VS after last shutdown and now you want to run it again<\/em>), then this solution wont help, you need to restart.<\/p>\n<p>(btw, there was also\u00a0a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W1lhn2FjQPk\">video on youtube<\/a>, which only triggers manual update, however, that part is solved much better\u00a0 within the above script, instead of badly manual trigger).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Feel free to comment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"default-content-clss excerpt_2354 type_post \"><p>&nbsp;
