THINKorSWIM – some notes:<\/span><\/div>\n

1)<\/span> How to Register: Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Register here (temporary 60 days free account) :<\/a>https:\/\/www.thinkorswim.com\/tos\/zzdisplayPage.tos?webpage=paperMoney<\/a> and download the Program from – here<\/a> OR here<\/a>After installation(when opening first time), it starts UPDATING (may take 5-10 minutes). After that, appears login area, and insert your USERNAME + PASSWORD (but change to \u201cPaperMoney\u201d instead of \u201cLive\u201d)
\n<\/div>\n

2)<\/span> Import study\/strategy – Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

a) To view text version code of TOS extension-ed script , just drag the file into Notepad (or right click on file and choose “EDIT<\/strong>“)
\nb) To import study, click CTRL+E somewhere on the chart, then click STRATEGIES(or STUDIES) tab, and click IMPORT. after successfully imported, find the script in the alphabetical list.
\n<\/div>\n

3)<\/span> Add\/Edit Studies Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

When you enter program, click on \u201cCharts\u201d tab (see image below) , then select any SYMBOL, then choose TIMEFRAME (5 minute, or hourly, or etc…). \u00a0Then click on keyboard CTRL+E (or click \u201cStudies>Edit Studies\u201d).<\/p>\n

On the left list \u00a0(under \u201cSTUDIES\u201d tab), \u00a0click NEW .
\n<\/p>\n

p.s. in \u201cStrategies\u201d tab, you can add strategies
\nthe only difference between STRATEGY and STUDY is that in STRATEGY you can execute \u201ctrades\/orders\u201d (but they are not real orders, but only backtesting orders)…. if you dont want trades,but just indicators, then use \u201cSTUDY\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Name the indicator (for example) AAATEST, \u00a0then insert the code (copy them from this image). \u00a0Also, click \u201cOPTIONS\u201d and disable checkboxes. \u00a0Then click \u201cAPPLY\u201d (or OK).
\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

4)<\/span> change study\u2019s inputs Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

if you need (see image below) :
\n– to change parameter values, right mouse click on the study name, and \u201cEDIT PROPERTIES\u201d.
\n– to change source code – \u201cEDIT SOURCE\u201d.
\n<\/div>\n

5)<\/span> Difference between: STUDY (for CHART) || STUDY FILTER || STUDY ALERT \u00a0|| \u00a0CUSTOM COLUMN Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

\n

in addition to CHARTS, custom indicators (also called \u201cscript\u201d or \u201cstudy\u201d) can be used in:
\n– SCAN tab \u00a0(for this, 2 different tools exist: CUSTOM COLUMN and STUDY FILTER )
\n– MarketWatch tab ( there is only CUSTOM COLUMN available)
\na) with “ADD STUDY FILTER” button ,
\n
\nyou can utilize custom script (or some built-in conditions). that means: show only the SYMBOLS, that meet indicator\u2019s criterias – only those symbols will be listed. \u00a0(However, it has very limited coding opportunities
\ni.e. Secondary Timeframe Data \u00a0is not allowed)
\nb) with “custom COLUMN” (supports a bit more coding opportunities
\n),
\n
\nyou just add another column (into the existing list of symbols, and that list may be already filtered by you), and in that column, you can show different WORDS\/NUMBERS (coloured) according to your conditions. \u00a0(the only one lack is, that custom \u201cCOLUMNS\u201d can be applied only to max.200-1000 symbols from list.. otherwise, it may give incorrect results due to DATA FEED& calculation \u00a0problems).
\nc) STUDY ALERTS are most limited for coding.. it allows simple criterias . i.e. :
\nalerts when: \u00a0RSI(10) crosses MovingAverage(15) \u00a0\u00a0or etc…
\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

6)<\/span> (How to) insert script in “CUSTOM COLUMN” Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

7)<\/span> (How to) Hide any PLOT Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

TOS has an option to hide the undesired PLOTS\/lines from chart.. enter STUDY\u2019s properties, you can easily hide desired PLOTS:

9)<\/span> (How to) zzdisplay Databox Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

There exists another useful option: zzdisplay the Floating data box.
\n<\/div>\n

10)<\/span> (How to) use SCAN \u201cADD FILTER\u201d Read this<\/a>;<\/p>\n

1) After importing the study (see paragraph II) then go to SCAN tab and remove all conditions from scan, by clicking X
