Can’t download files from UpWork (in Chrome\/Mozilla Firefox)<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Recently, after appx. 23 Aug (2018) clients and freelancers on\u00a0UpWork.com<\/a><\/span> are receiving error message while trying to download the delivered files:<\/p>\n

This file is dangerous, so Chrome has blocked it.<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n

However, the most files (even more, if file is not an executable, but a simple text file) is not a threat. Probably, this issue is temporarily (seems Google Chrome<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and Mozilla has blocked the subdomain of\u00a0amazonaws.com<\/a><\/span>\u00a0or marked it as “spammy”, where UpWork\u00a0<\/strong>files are put).<\/p>\n

Solution<\/h1>\n

However, many users, like me, can’t download the files from UpWork<\/strong> in Chrome\/FireFox, then you can do the temporary fix (till browsers will fix officially):<\/p>\n

  1. PressCTRL+J<\/code>\u00a0on keyboard (or do this:
    \n\"\"\"\"<\/li>\n
  2. Then, if you trust the file, click “KEEP DANGEROUS FILE<\/code><\/strong>“.
    \n\"\"
    \n\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Now, download will start normally. Once again, this should be fixed till the September, 2018. If you read this article later, then the warning is probably not a temporary mistake, but a real warning, so check that file (with AntiVirus, or online at VirusTotal.com<\/strong><\/a> ).<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
