Error Message in Tray<\/h2>\n

Sometimes, you may unexpectedly see the error message in a tray – No speakers or headphones are plugged in<\/span><\/code>.<\/p>\n

This problem mostly happens with laptops (as far as I know), and mostly with Realket<\/a> HD (High Definition Audio Device). There could be different reasons for that error message and you can use different fixes.<\/p>\n

Actual Fix<\/h2>\n

  1. At first, try to sort out problem automatically – enter Control Panel > TroubleShooting > Hardware and Sound<\/span> > Playing Audio<\/strong>. And then see, if Windows Troubleshooter can fix that. If yes, then GOOD! If not, then continue reading.<\/li>\n
  2. Another problem could be audio drivers. Uninstalling your current driver and reinstalling the latest driver for your model (exactly) could solve the problem. Also, note that\u00a0 you install 32-bit or 64-bit driver – whichever your hardware supports.<\/li>\n
  3. If you installed a new video-card or made some hardware change, then BIOS could have disabled “onBoard Audio<\/strong>” setting. So, you should enter BIOS (click repeatedly on DEL<\/code><\/strong> or F2<\/code><\/strong> or F10<\/code><\/strong> or like that) during booting. Then\u00a0find\u00a0integrated devices<\/strong> and enable Integrated audio<\/strong> (or called as onboard audio<\/strong>). Exit\u00a0 & Save changes and now the problem should be gone<\/li>\n

In my case, this problem happened 2 times, and both times, the same thing happened to my pc (dont know why): Turn Off Laptop; Remove Power cable + Battery; Then open back-case, unattach and attach back CPU, unattach and attach other visible cable. then turn the Laptop back, and I have sound working! This happened 2 times! (i don’t know, maybe in your case, just removing power+battery for 20 seconds maybe enough to refresh laptop).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
