Sometimes, when you start any VB image, you might see the error message cannot access the kernel driver<\/code><\/strong>. If that happens with you at this moment, you can find the solution that fits you.<\/p>\n

There are several ways to fix that problem\u00a0 (in my case, problem was with version 4.3<\/strong><\/span> and version 5<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

Solution 1<\/h3>\n

At first, you should Close VirtualBox<\/strong>. Now go to and right click on these files individually :<\/p>\n

C:\\Program Files\\Oracle\\VirtualBox\\drivers\\USB\\filter\\VBoxUSBMon.inf
\nC:\\Program Files\\Oracle\\VirtualBox\\drivers\\vboxdrv\\VBoxDrv.inf<\/code><\/p>\n

and choose install<\/strong>. Now start VB\u00a0<\/strong>again and see if the problem still persists (if so, continue the reading. If not, then congrats!)<\/p>\n

Solution 2<\/h3>\n

Another workaround could be:\u00a0\u00a0 Shut down anti-virus software before (installing and) running.<\/p>\n

Solution 3<\/h3>\n

If above method doesnt fix the problem and if you still need another solution, now just open the Installer <\/strong>and choose Repair<\/strong>. This could fix the issue in some cases.<\/p>\n

Solution 4<\/h3>\n

In one of my cases, the problem was caused due to the fact, that I had multiple versions installed after one-another (you can read – How to install two VB versions on same PC<\/a>, but seems it no longer works), so multiple installations caused problems. My second installation was\u00a05.1<\/strong> version. I run the installer of 5.1 and chosen to “UNINSTALL<\/strong>” it. After that, I repaired the VB 4.3<\/strong> and problem was gone. If you have the same scenario, this solution might help you – BUT NOTE, IF YOU HAVE ANY IMPORTANT IMAGES\/FILES, SAVE THEM AND DONT LOOSE (if they are worth for you at all).<\/p>\n
